RUGBY RULES

In this section you fill find information about the game of rugby such as how the rules change as the players move up each age group. The rules have been created in a manner to progressively introduce more aspects of the game to children in a safe, progressive manner.

Youth Rugby U13 Full size 25 mins  4 Max 1.5m push No lifting. 
U14 25 mins  4 Max 1.5m push  No lifting.
U15 30 mins  5 Max 1.5m push No lifting in club match, allowed in county matches.
U16 35 mins  5 Max 1.5m push. Scrum-half can follow round. Lifting allowed.

No hand off / fend off. ?????? Check if allowed from U13 on.

Scrum: Equal numbers. No deliberate wheeling of the scrum (penalty). Max wheel 45 deg. - scrum reset. Ball must come out quickly - can't be kept in the scrum.

Maul must not be pulled down.

No squeeze ball.
