Bournemouth Rugby’s CEO James Croker and Director of Rugby, Will Croker, were delighted to present the new vision for the region’s main Rugby Club.

Bournemouth Rugby’s CEO James Croker and Director of Rugby, Will Croker, were delighted to present the new vision for the region’s main Rugby Club to around 100 guests from across the conurbation at an event held at Hotel Miramar in June.

Representatives from local businesses, tourism, Bournemouth Council, educational bodies, including Bournemouth University, and local sports clubs gathered to hear about the Club’s future, with a firm focus on ‘community rugby’ from both a commercial and sport perspective.

Bournemouth Rugby has already started engaging with business, education, local authorities, disability, women’s rugby and health and fitness, as well as other sports clubs including AFC Bournemouth, to provide community support, underlined by the Club’s ethos of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
Tony Williams, CEO at Bournemouth Borough Council, said: “Together with Lawrence Williams - Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and The Arts and Bill Cotton, Executive Director – Environment and Economy, I attended a presentation by Bournemouth Rugby. The presentation highlighted the ambitions of the Club to follow the path of AFC Bournemouth up the leagues. I was impressed by the Club’s ambition, determination and resolve. What was also noticeable was how proud it is of Bournemouth and how well it regards the town – its beaches, parks and cosmopolitan feel. There was a real recognition that Bournemouth as a whole is on the up!”
