RFU Update – Community Rugby set to return from 29th March

Date

We are delighted to confirm that following the government’s announcement that organised outdoor sport can resume from Monday 29 March, the RFU has published a new Return to Community Rugby Roadmap.

This means our Senior Sections will resume training from Tuesday 30th March, our Social Touch will resume on Thursday 1st April and our Youth and Mini will resume training from Sunday 4th April.

We are still awaiting an update from GBWR with regards to our Wheelchair Rugby training resuming.

As previously confirmed, the 2020/21 league structure has already been cancelled. However, as in normal years, we will look to host friendly fixtures in the adult game during the summer months. As long as Covid-19 infection rates are kept under control, all adult and age grade competitions are expected to start in September, as normal, under full laws.

From our Executive Committee, Staff and Volunteers a massive thank you for everyone’s support during this past year, which for all of us has been a challenge. We sincerely hope that light is at the end of the tunnel and we can welcome you back to training, matches and a few drinks in the bar!

For now, keep well.
