Bournemouth Under 10's rugby is all about fun and getting to know the game. We currently have 35-40 regular players of all abilities and the club is growing from strength to strength. Some players have been involved with the club since the Under 6's and every year we get newcomers coming along and trying for the first time. Boys and girls of all levels of experience and ability are always very welcome - Please see details below for joining instructions.
We aim make our coaching sessions the best sporting activity that the player will do all week. We will achieve this through making our training sessions fun highlighting the spirit of teamwork, respect and togetherness.
As a squad we have a fantastic team spirit and are constantly helping develop the players' rugby playing skills and also their sporting maturity.
Our home ground is Chapel Gate, Bournemouth (near Bournemouth Airport). The club has extensive training facilities, a club house and ample parking.
Occasionally during the season we have home and away joint training with teams from across the region which gives the players excellent experience and also a number of away tournaments culminating in a fantastic home annual tournament whereby the club plays host to over 100 clubs over one weekend.
We have 4 RFU qualified coaches lead by Stuart Gallacher RFU Level 2, Rich Docherty RFU Level 2 and Qualified Referee, Gareth Williams RFU Level 1, Carl Wheeler RFU Level 1 all ably supported by a host of parent helpers.
The team manager is Rob Stratford, who supports the coaches and deals with the more administrative tasks.
The squad trains and plays on Sunday mornings from 10am-12pm. Training is at our home ground of Chapel Gate, and competitive fixtures are either home or away at the hosting club's venue.

Developing RFU Core Values of Teamwork, Respect,
Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship
We provide tag, touch and contact (Year 4 upwards optional) rugby based games around the Dorset area for both girls and boys aged 4 to 15 years in a healthy and nurturing environment.
Our lessons are designed with the objective to develop core rugby skills of handling, kicking, tackling/tagging/touch and running with the balls. In addition we develop hand eye co-ordination, spatial awareness and effective decision making and it also improves overall fitness. Rippa Rugby can be played indoors and out on different surfaces and is an all year round sport.
The rules are simple in that a team attempts to score tries at one end of the pitch whilst the other team defends by ripping the Tags off the attackers, thus forcing them to pass and proceed with their attack.
Contact sessions are introduced for year 4 upwards (Optional) teaching the children how to tackle and fall correctly and bringing these safe techniques in to game related play.
